Cloud Engineer (API) II
Red Cedar TG TG is seeking a dynamic, proactive, and self-starting Cloud Engineer (API) to join our Enterprise Architecture Team at Scott AFB, IL.

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, efficient, and scalable Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that align with organizational needs.
- Define and refine API requirements, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and technical needs.
- Use programming languages (such as Java, Python, or Ruby) to develop APIs and related functionalities.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance, addressing issues proactively and ensuring smooth operation.
- Implement and manage API security and authentication measures to comply with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Manage AWS infrastructure using the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), providing systems administration and issue resolution as needed.
- Utilize AWS GovCloud or other government cloud services in compliance with applicable security standards.
- Develop, test, and optimize database solutions using MS SQL and MySQL, including data modeling and stored procedure tuning.
- Use scripting and programming to automate and streamline workflows and API management processes.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to communicate technical information, project updates, and best practices.
- Remain current on AWS service updates, security best practices, and API development advancements.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of related professional experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Current CompTIA Sec+ or better.
- AWS cloud practitioner certification or better.
- Proficiency with AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and knowledge of AWS products, services, best practices, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby).
- Experience with API Development with the ability to design, build, and maintain APIs, including defining API requirements.
- Proficiency in creating API documentation and managing API gateways.
- Familiarity with MS SQL and MySQL development, including data modeling, concurrency, stored procedure development, and performance tuning.
- Experience in securing and authenticating APIs, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks independently, meet deadlines, and work well with minimal supervision.
- Must be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
Desired
- Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or other Government Cloud environments.
