Eagle TG is seeking a detail-oriented Data Engineer who can map legacy data structures and processes to newly developed data structures and processes.  Candidate needs to be very well organized and be able to communicate effectively with personnel from multiple organizations.  From a technical perspective, candidate needs to be able to navigate Oracle and PostgreSQL databases unaided and be able to create SQL queries to develop Data Profiles necessary for analysis to derive end results.  Candidate must be able to read and understand existing PL/SQL and Java Source code and be able to decipher fixed width, delimited, and EDI/XML data files and processes to document existing data exchanges which will be used to create plans for replacement processes in the new system. This position is expected to be 90% remote, but candidate must be within easy commuting distance of Scott AFB IL.

Missing a certification for this position?  Eagle TG will work with candidates that are otherwise fully qualified to help them obtain required certifications such as CompTIA Sec+, ITIL, CISSP, and other required certifications."

Compensation is based on geographical location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, deployment, and management of the system's data architecture. 
  • Assists Data and Functional Architects in collaborating with technical and management teams to understand requirements and define standards for how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed across the system. 
  • Translates requirements into a useable blueprint. 
  • Implements measures to ensure data accuracy and accessibility. 
  • Supports business analysis, data architect/engineering teams as the Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) subject matter expert. 
  • Identifies and resolves problems related to ETL processes and applications. 
  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

  • DoD SECRET clearance
  • Current COMPTia Security+
  • BA in IT or related business discipline or comparable job experience
  • Experience with ETL methods and process
  • Ability to map legacy data structures/processes to newly developed data structures/processes
  • Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
  • Ability to create SQL queries to develop Data Profiles needed for analysis to derive end results
  • Able to read and understand existing PL/SQL and Java Source code and be able to decipher fixed width, delimited, and EDI/XML data files and processes to define existing data exchanges which will be used to create blueprints for replacement processes in the new system.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
